We purchased William Grey from Art and Shirley Selby, Selby's Ranch, in September 1993. William was our first and foundation herdsire.  He had beautiful, fine grey fiber. Even at his last shearing, I was amazed at how fine it still was. His disposition was wonderful and he loved to give kisses. He was a very respectful male, easy to handle during breeding and often used for baby sitting at weaning time. He was correct and had a very regal presence.  People often commented on how stately he was. In his younger years, I often used him as a PR llama, taking him to different schools.

His offspring are wonderful, all  possessing his disposition and beautiful fiber, often suri type, and very silky.

For the last few years, William has suffered with megaesophagus, each year getting a little worse. He had a big heart and he fought hard. We tried many different things for him, still knowing what the outcome would be.

William was buried in his own pasture under the trees, where he can see his girls and still be a "front pasture llama".
